Eagles Don’t Look Back After 2-0 First Half Lead Holds Up On the Road

The Eagles started their road season with a 2-0 victory at the Kansas City Courage. A first half lead and another disciplined defensive performance in the second half would see the Eagles record another W and another clean sheet. Tori Novak would find a seam early and her effort on goal would force a good save from the Courages keeper but Erin Dierckx would put the work in and be rewarded with a tap into to open the scoring. It would be Dierckx who would add to her stats on the day by slotting Ashley Dexter who cooly rounded the keeper and established a convincing 2-0 lead for the Eagles to defend.

The second half would see the Eagles manage the game effectively limiting chances against them and still looking dangerous offensively. The game would finish 2-0, another clean sheet and win for the Eagles.

Eagles are back in action Saturday June 13th at 7:30pm in Des Moines to face the Des Moines Menace.
