The Quad Cities Football Club Men’s National Premier Soccer League Team kicked off the 2013 season with back-to-back road victories last weekend. The Eagles opened their season with a 3-2 victory over the Eau Claire (Wis.) Aris Football Club on Saturday and followed that on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over the Milwaukee Bavarians.
Tirelo Morake scored the Eagles’ first goal on Saturday, and UTHS senior and University of Dubuque signee Miguel Lafarerra scored the final two en route to being named “Man of the Match.”
In Sunday’s victory, midfielder Eddie Garza scored twice, and Javier Bautista put in the capper.
The Eagles’ home opener takes on historic significance as they host the Blau-Weiss Wiehre Football Club from Freiburg, Germany, at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Davenport Soccer Complex, 8991 North Division Street, Davenport.
Tickets are available on the Quad City Eagles website, quadcityeaglesfc.com, or at the game. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for kids 10-14, and children 9 and younger are free with a parent.
